have you got any of the radio channels?

    have you tried to retune?

On Christmas eve I was picking up the Saorview channels (along with strong analogue signals) from a transmitter I usually get next to nothing from. Must have been high pressure weather conditions; channels were gone next day.
The transmitter you usually get RTE from may not be broadcasting Saorview yet.

OR it could be that the tv tuned in faraway channels as the home channels instead of the home transmitter.
Many tv's are eejits like that.
    Do a full retune.

Also what aerial is your RTE aerial and where are you?

You could be in Japan for all we know which would mean we would have to tell you that you have no hope.

Why don't some people who pose here cop on , with respect to you op and REALISE that knowing where you are(eg nearest town, what part of a county you are in etc) is VITAL information if you want help from us.

You haven't even given us a clue as to the aerial type you have...

Well, if the tv already tuned the channels you don't need a box. I presume you mean Cork city, should be fairly well served by transmitters.
Try a manual tune on UHF channel 45 (Spur Hill transmitter).

Over the past 10 days I've had to retune the digital channels on my Sony. Im in Cork and had been picking them up without issue since August.
