As, apart from frozen underground pipes apparently (no water yet), the Freeze also destroyed our water softener (salt based system installed in pump house, own well), I am looking into getting a replacement system (provided we will ever have water again :P) and came across those:

Too good to be true? Couldn't find anything else about them but their own blurp.

    Cheers

I did not go for this system as I could not find any proper feedback. Back using a bog-standard salt based system ;P

Thanks for that, same as you cant find any references for this unit so I suppose you made the correct decision. What salt based system do you have any tips I should look out for in your experience.
    Again mant thanks

Went for a system like that
    http://www.water2buy.ie/water-softeners-10/aquasmart-timer-controlled-water-softener-space-saver-free-undersink-filter-64.html

Self-install as all connections were already in place from the previous system. Works well (as much as one can tell :P).
It is located in pump house/timber shed. I used immersion lagging to insulate against frost plus a temperature controlled heater. Worked ok (lowest this far -4 :P).
