Picture zoomed in on UPC box??

The picture on the television from the digital UPC box is constantly zoomed in; nothing to do with the TV itself I think. It's such that the little channel icons at the top of the screen are often obscured, characters on the edge of the screen disappear, even subtitles are sometimes submerged.

Anybody any ideas how to... zoom out? :o

I have a chorus box but I imagine they are fairly similar. There should be an option in the installation or user menus to allow you to change between 16:9, 4:3, 14:9, letterbox etc.

Also check first that it's not your TV that's set to one of these.

Change TV to 16:9 and if that doesn't sort it then change the box to 16:9 also.

All the manuals for the different boxes can be viewed here.

    Thanks for that...

I have changed the aspect ratio on the TV from 16:9 to 4:3 to smart and then to zoom

This does not make the full picture visible on a Sony Bravia 26 inch screen

However there is no reference to changing the box picture to 16:9 on the manual.....

Does anyone know how to achieve this....????

Changing on your tv will not fix it you need to output a 16.9 picture on your box.

You are using an ex Chrous box I have never used one of these but there has to be a settings menu to change picture for example.

Edit leave you tv in 16.9 mode and than work on the box.

    Thanks a mill Ranicand....

Should i be looking at the box itself for this setting and not the remote..????

No the remote you need to get into the menu the changes settings and then picture settings.

16.9 mode might be just marked as wide.

Play with the box and go into all the settings you can not mess it up unless you switch off scart control.

    Not my TV....

Won't be able to check this until tomorrow...

    Thanks again...

Checked the picture options this morning....

When you press the menu option on the remote control there are no options from there to change the picture settings...

If you go to page 5 of the guide below it gives a photo of the remote...

    http://www.upc.ie/pdf/DTV%20Guide%20Final.pdf

If anyone has this remote/set-top box can you advise how to change the box picture settings...

    Many Thanks...

    1. Press Menu on remote
    2. Installation
    3. Set Top Box Installation
    4. TV and VCR Installation
    5. TV Screen Size (left and right to alter). Change to 16:9 if your TV is 16:9 (widescreen).
