Got one of these in power city this morning but am having a nightmare trying to set the wireless up. The netbook is picking up the signal, password is entered correctly I even manually added the connection but keep getting the "windows was unable to connect" error.Has anyone set this up to a wireless connection or am I missing something. Want to make sure everything is ok with it before I put windows 7 ultimate on it or that's my warranty gone. I've updated the Realtek driver and my phone is picking up the wireless signal perfectly so that's not the problem. So any help would be great.

Maybe Windows 7 saved a profile for your wireless network with the wrong settings. Try removing it and connecting again.

To manage wireless connections, open the Network and Sharing Center (you can open it from either the wireless network connection dialog in the notification area or from Control Panel). Click the Manage Wireless Networks link in the left panel.

To remove a connection that you no longer use, select it and click Remove. Then connect again and make sure you're putting in the right key.

Thanks for the reply bhickey. Tried everything you suggested but nothing works. I have even disabled security on my router (Linksys with dd wrt) and windows keeps asking for a password even though its an open network. Windows starter is terrible but dont want to install a new OS in case its a faulty network adapter.

I got it going but not 100% happy with things, not sure if its a windows 7 or dd-wrt problem. I had to set up a Virtual Interface on dd-wrt as it just wouldn't connect to the Physical Interface even without a password. I could also only get the wireless going by using WPA Personal, no other security would work, and bizarrely only short passwords would work. Really don't know what's going on and am not happy with the security level at all. I'll have to give it a bash when I get more time. Thanks for the links on the verge, Ill give that wireless problems post and read and see if I get some divine intervention.

You need to install the Atheros AR9285 driver for Windows 7, when downloaded extract it (you may need winrar, just google it) go to Device manager, you will see unknown wireless networking device or something like that. Right click on it and click properties, update the driver and find the directory of the downloaded drivers. It should recognise the drivers if it recognises it as an Atheros AR9285 driver install it. It should work after installation.:)
BTW Realtek is an audio driver.

    Hey guys,

I have similar problem, hence I'm here.

I have the Samsung N145 Plus. Just put on Win 7 Pro because obviously Starter is ****.

All is good except my laptop isn't even picking up my open network connection. Just says 'No connections are available'
    FML!

Why isn't it picking it up at all?? Something to do with the new installation of Pro? My Network card not working? Drivers not up to date? Please help. Thanks ;)

My Network adapter in Device Manager is: Generic Marvell Yukon 88E8040 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller

EDIT: Just checked under network adapters. Other devices -> Network Controller(Drivers not installed). Do I need these drivers for the Network Controller? Where can I get them?

Have a look here http://www.marvell.com/support/ down at the bottom right corner enter your operating system, then your product part number in your case 88E8040 and just follow the instruction. Let us know if it works.

    Thanks.

I rang Samsung Ireland and they helped me.

    For anyone wanting to know:

    Go to Samsung.com\uk
    Go to Support.
    Enter your model number.
    Then download the required drivers.

I basically whiped my laptop of all the drivers needed.

    Easy Peasy. ;)
