No Water Coming out the Hot Taps

Our cold water came back yesterday here in Cois Ghruda, Castletroy, Limerick. However, the hot water only comes out in small splurts and then stops after a half a minute.

The radiators are working fine, and the small amount of water from the hot tap is heated.

Any suggestions on how to fill up the hot water tank?

Would I close the drain valve near the bottom of the tank? I think that the drain valve is slightly open (I'm not at the house now).

Normally, is the drain valve kept fully closed?

Oh yeah, yesterday when I incresaed the pressure the mains from the gas boiler, there was a leak coming from the ceiling under the hot tank. It was a couple of litres.

    Thanks

    Ray

See other thread that you have posted in.

Not sure what you are saying about the gas boiler.

Where did the leak come from?

Thanks Fingers McGee, I'll have a read.

I was mentioning that I increased the pressure to 1 bar. Which the 'lever' is situated under the gas boiler. When I did that, after say 10 minutes, some water started to leak through the ceiling from near the hotpress.

    Thanks

    Ray
