    Hi Guys,

Quick query re DS fault :

Power light is coming on for a second, then off again. No Screen.

I would say its at least 3 years old.

Repair or replace in your opinion ?

    Thank you.

Could be the battery, don't think they're too hard to replace or get.
Have you tried using it plugged in?

I presume the major games stores still stock the original DS battery ?

Don't know if the shops stock replacement batteries but you can get one on ebay amongst others and they're usually about €8, I've never replaced a battery in one but I hear its very straight forward. Just make sure you get the correct one for your model DS

Hi I had same problem and could not find battery in xtra vis or gamestop but while out on xmass eve and in one of the shops that sell all sorts of elictrical odss and ends found a speaker system with battery pack and extra pens for 6 euro depends on your location mine worked a treat and saved lots of hassle lol .

Power light coming on for a couple secs then off can also be a short on the top screen.

This is the usual problem i've found with this symptom.

It's easy enough to replace but I've found that some of the cheap replacement screens (Found online) don't usually last that long although some do.

It's tricky enough to replace them but eventually you get the hang of how to do it. Chek out a few youTube vids on it too see if it's for you.

    Thanks for that.

Will probably get somebody to look at it for me, I have problems wiring a plug.

Had a similar problem with mine. Bought a battery on ebay and it worked fine. The battery came with a tiny screwdriver too.

Let me know if you want details of the seller, he's based in Ireland so shipping is extremely quick. Mine came in the following days post.
