Toshiba "recovery disc", confused, help?

I got a toshiba laptop for christmas but it doesn't come with any reinstallation disc for the os (windows 7) I have the option to create a "recovery disc", here is my problem.
Will the recovery disc just be a ghost of the toshiba or will it be the actual windows install disk?
When i got a pc years ago the windows xp reinsallation disc that came with it could be used again about 25 times with the same activation code.
Should it be the same situation here?
I have paid for windows 7 in the price of the laptop have i not?
If not then what am i paying for? have i got the right to one copy of it only on this laptop? or the right to have it on multiple computers that i own, because after all i already have copyright permission to use it? must i pay for it multiple times?
I play fifa on different xboxs buy i only own one copy of fifa...

To summerise my query, will the "recovery disc" work like a reinstallation disc, and if not is this lawful or do they have to give me a reinstallation disc of the os that i have paid for?
thank you for reading, any help appricated

The DISK will reinstall the os if it stops loading, its designed for your laptop,IE it,ll only work on your laptop ,eg toshiba model 530kl for example,Copy the disk, put it in a cool, dry place ,away from sunlight.its NOT a standard windows os disk to be used on any pc.

    thanks man.
i think they should be required to give you a os back up disc and a disc with the drivers on it... its a load of ball bag

You can use drivermax, to backup all the drivers ,copy them to a cdr.COPY the recovery disk to a dvdr.Google drivermax program, its free.IT creates a folder, my drivers .VERY useful if you need to reinstall windows in 2 years time.

Fairly sure you can order them (for a fee) from Toshiba as well.
That's the case with a recent Toshiba laptop i got.

Actually with mine, as well as being able to burn a recovery image to dvd, there are also recovery files on a space on the hdd as well. You press F8 and load them from there.
    Presumably similar with yours.
Look throught the Toshiba manual file (pdf) on the laptop itself and you'll probably get an answer.
    :)

BTW, when they say recovery disc, i presume they mean drivers as well.
    Can anyone confirm this.
    Thanks.

    Hi ricman.
Can you confirm that creation of recovery OS dvds (like with Toshiba recovery media creator) won't include drivers as well.

Thanks for the drivermax suggestion, if indeed that turns out not to be the case.

Your better of creating a set of recovery discs for your self. This will create a factory image of the laptop onto discs, so in the event your harddisk fails or operating system crashes, you can reload it back to the original factory image.

    Alternatively, if you have not installed another operating system or formatted the harddisk you can also restore it back to factory settings by;
    1)Power on the Laptop
    2) Tap F8 several times at the Toshiba bios screen
    3) Select Top option "Repair Computer"
    4) Log in & select Keyboard layout
    5) At the promp screen, select the bottom option, it should be labelled something like " Toshiba Factory Image Restore ".
    6) Follow on-screen instructions, it should take 30mins.

If you tamper with your harddisk or install another operating system on your laptop you may loose this "restore" function. Please also note this function is not the same as running "Windows Restore Point". It simply returns the harddisk back to the factory Image.
