Looking for private indoor/outdoor space to do some target practice

    Lads,

Does anyone know of somewhere I can take my PSG-1 sniper rifle to do some target practice and sight zeroing?

I live in Donabate and willing to travel a fair bit to do this. Struggling to find somewhere where the neighbors will not call the boys in blue or gather around staring.

    Appreciate any help at all.

    Thx, Boa

the only places your supposed to travel to with an aeg, are airsoft sites.

Surely shooting on private property is allowed whether indoor or outdoor. I'm not looking for public areas.

Really, an airsoft site is the best place to do this for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that they'll have a range specifically for zeroing sights already in place, usually with targets at 10m increments.
It's your best option by far, really.

Really good idea. Name a site near Donabate that has a practice range. I've been to most and don't recollect seeing one, really :-)

Kevin, many thanks for that. I am in Ballyconnell, Cavan every second weekend so Carrick is only a half hour away. Can you give me more details please.

    HRTA .
AFAIK there is no dedicated range for zeroing a scope. Most player do it in the field.

brings up a good point actually, I dont play I only plink but am pretty limited on space. Makes it less challanging and harder to effectivly zero in scopes.

Ideally an airsoft firing range would be brilliant, indoors to keep shot consistancy to a maximum, be a great place to meet and converse with other airsoft lovers. I am sure there are more than a few collectors that cant bear to bring their pride and joys out in the mud but would still like the social aspect of the scene? I am sure you would end up having actuall airsoft players there too. Seeing as its only a range the inscurance wouldnt be as bad as a game site or need nearly as much space ether.

Could be used for timed run target shooting or stationary moving target shooting "games" too.

HRTA does have a few posts up but there weren't targets painted on them last I checked. Ideally for this kind of thing you want an enclosed space to avoid wind deviation.

Check out Enniscorthy Airsoft Centre. They have a thread in the Retailer's section. They have a store, firing range, and hot water facilities if I remember correctly. So it's probably what you're looking for.
