    Hi jmbkay,

i have a couple that I am stuck on and would appreciate any help you can offer (even one would be great!) - thanks a million :o

51d - Friends rise when a hit goes down
59a/35d -Yes no dirt is about the true source behind the news ( I think the second word is 'story')
69a - Mark the spot (think it might be 'smudge')
73a - Such power is a prerequisite at this time
37d - What, 1225 Stateside and no kids in bed? (think it is Christmas Day)

Again, lots there, so even help with one would be appreciated - many thanks!

51D is clap. 59a/35D is inside story. You're right about smudge. 73a is staying (power) Christmas Day is correct. Glad to help.

    Hi jmbkay
Looking at solutions again. I think 51 dn should be SLAP (pals in reverse). You feel it is CLAP. What do you think of my suggestion?
Otherwise all seem to suit. Thanks again

You are right! I looked at it again. I was thinking of people rising and clapping when something is a hit. But of course, friends-pals-hit= slap makes complete sense and is the correct solution. Cheers.

    12a I have 'lap'.

Well I think hop is correct
"roo" I think refers to kangaroo and they hop, which is a type of dance

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38 HOOL75

Would the "roo" refer to Rooney having lap dances?
