I'd say either the KJW 1911 (which I have) or the KJW M9 (which my bro has). Great guns, but the 1911 mags are really hard to come by nowadays. Good Luck!

Your best bet is to call to a shop and see.what you like the best in style. I have a Taurus pt99 which is based on the beretta 92f and I really like, but its a completely different animal than a 1911s because it has a 38 round mag and a tactical rail under the muzzle. I like this as its more of a practical sidearm to me than a more standard pistol. Some of the guys I play with have 1911s and they hate the 99.

    Things to decide on

    Size and weight
    Mag size
    Green or co2
    Rails or not
    Customizable
The look you are going for.

The last one can be the most important. There is an olive green pt92 in hobby that I absolutely love. The mag has a much lower capacity and it feels and looks much nicer than mine, and the magpie in me badly wants it. Purely on looks and cool factor.

But I think a pistol should be researched and bought new as a good once off purchase. Nothing like handling it before buying.

arkslippy thanks for your feedback, your right i am looking for something that i could ad adjustments to, and your pt99 is cool, as i would like to add lazer/flashlight attachments and customise it to my needs, and i totaly agree that handling a pistol would be the best bet to do, but not every shop has the wide range of pistols to pick up, well not that i know of, and i need info from my fellow airsofters on what and what not to pick up, as i bought one before and was very unhappy with it eg couldnt get the right holster ect, i want something more practical as a side arm as you do, so again thanks for the feedback much appreciated ;)

I have to say I bought a Kjw smith & Wesson 1911 in hobby airsoft a week ago and it is one of the best pistols I've ever used, great range, power, looks and recoil. Love it and would defietly recommend
