Items that have fallen into the "black hole"

I hate losing stuff but most of the time I find them sooner or later. However, there have been a couple of things I have lost that have never turned up even though they cannot possibly be anywhere but inside my house (which I've turned upside down).

I went to New York in July of 2009 and bought a gorgeous pair of black skinny jeans in K-Mart. I distinctly remember wearing them when I got home. I have the chains off them to prove it, which I removed when I threw them into the washing machine. I haven't seen the jeans since.

Another, more recently, was my retainer. This was worse because I had to pay €50 to have it replaced.

Anyone else lose something that has never turned up?

The sock monster and me have an ongoing battle. It has gone beyond socks though - it hid my phone for 3 days after i found a load of his hidden socks. The monster has moved onto things now. I am most definitely losing the war though, i may win an odd battle but thats it.

I lost the power supply for my external hard drive last year and never found it again. I tried plugging something else into the hard drive and blew something in it. I lose a lot of plectrums and I've lost about five guitar tuners.

Every time the form is sent out to tax the car that goes missing but I can always find the previous one.
