What temp should this be set at - I don't have one in my house, my mother had it set at over 80 degrees. I've drooped it to 65 - should it be lower. For showering and washing dishes.

It just depends on how hot you want the water to be, thats all.

mine is set on 75 degrees
They told me by lower temperatures u get chances of bacteria like the legionnaire bacteria

Anything above 60 degrees will minimise the risk of Legionella or other microbial growth in the stored water, going much above 60C increases the risk of scalding particularly for elderly folk and young children, so I'd say 65C is just about right. 80C+ is actually dangerous.

It states in the regs that hot water should be no more than 60C.

If the water IS pressurised AND chlorinated you can drink it, warm or cold.

Thanks. She has a fairly modern system and the water is zoned plus the stat. I think the water was getting too hit and also that it would be wasting money.
