Anybody experiencing a problem with their UPC? It is out in my part of the world since last night. (in the Whest!)

The Chorus went here last night (MidWest) - all we get at the moment is a Network Connections screen. Can't get through to Tech Support, just an automated message saying an update is due at 11:30.

Now the automated message is saying an update is due at 1pm.

    Thats service for you!

More importantly: anyone know when service will resume? Last update was 1.00pm - no change here.

We got through to their call centre at 12.05 - spoke with a customer rep who said that the Keep Hill facility has major disruption last night and that UPC/Chorus were in the process of repairing same now.

We will not be renewing our UPC/Chorus subscription.

Just rang and the automated response said that service should be back by 5.30pm but to keep checking the 1908 number for any updates.

Spoke to my brother in law in Waterford. They lost UPC service on Christmas Night, their service was restored at 11.00am this morning.

Couldn't believe how many areas were affected. Limerick, Galway, Roscommon, Clare, Tipperary, Charlevillle and Offaly. I think it said a few other places as well. Me thinks that in the new year, Sky digital will be getting lots of new customers.

Digital+HD EPG not working in Naas, otherwise all ok.

Now it's not supposed to be back until 7pm!! I've been calling the 1908 number all day and every time there has been a different estimated time for repair given. We'll be lucky to have it back by the New Year at this rate!!

Sorry I retract my last statement, we're back in business!! Oh glorious TV, how I missed you!

    Thats service for you!

Seems like good service - why wait 30 minutes to speak to someone to be told the same thing?

Updating the IVR on 1908 is one thing they've been relatively good at since UPC took over - I'd rather get an immediate (recorded) update than sit in a queue for 30 minutes to hear it.

    its down again ffs

the very time of the year you need it most...surely it can't be the rain thats causing it?

thankfully it's still working with us. Fingers crossed!

the UPC signal from keeper hill has deteriorated since xmas, any bit of rain and it goes to pot......anyone else from the mid-west experience the same thing?

Ya I'm in Co. Limerick and both last night and today the TV is really jumpy and stopping. It's a pain.

I was thinking of changing from sky to upc (to save money when bundled with internet and phone) but when they couldnt even answer the phone or respond to my call back I was suspicious! Are the signal reception common?

We have had lots of problems with our signal. UPC say its because our house is out in the country. On average we have had to call out UPC once/twice a year. I'd love to change to Sky but the bill payer says no!
