6870 vs Arma

    heheheh kids/wife fell asleep so got time to install this and test it out.

    Pc:
    E6850@3ghz
    4gb ram
    4870 512mb

    Benchmarked Lingor Evo at average 22 FPS 1920*1080 everything on high but textures and video memory on medium. 5k view with full foliage, dropped to 15 at times mainly in towns.


    6870 1gb

    Lingor evo averaged 75 FPS with textures and video memory on highest. Dropped to 45 in towns.

    Game looks completely different :D the combination of faster clock and 1gb Vram really helped.

    Did a drive by and a fly by in towns.

    Another cracking card imo (altho drivers didnt install to plan had some issues and my monitor isnt ECID`d anymore :( )

    Textures on normal renders on the cpu, never leave any setting on normal or lower if You have a decent gpu.

    Buy a quad for that pc, Arma sees a huge increase, needs a quad IMO

    With the old card had to use medium memory and textures or else i got that micro stutter. Dont have that problem anymore.
