They are shutting up shop at 6pm this evening and playing wall to wall music for 14 hours until 8am tomorrow morning, on st stevens day they are doing the same thing. This is not good enough.

They can do what they like!

Be a different story if RTE were doing the same

Id rather that than some "zany" b list celebrities trolling the airwaves with their personal brand of banality.

Are you referring to any station in particular?

I don't listen to the Irish radio much anymore but when I did I remember 2FM used to have boybands and soap stars on presenting for a day or two. They may or may not have been prerecorded too.

Well FM104 are doing the ' get the bands in to present a "show" ' thing this year... quite certain they're pre-recorded/voicetracked.

Yeah. I'd honestly prefer the today fm route to that. Since its 104 I'm guessing aslan are doing one. ;)

Who is the guy who fills in for Paul McCloone on Today FM?

He makes me want to punch orphans in the face.

I liked that they just played music. Makes a change from all the talk and the bit of music they play for the rest of the year

I am sure RTE 2FM will have recorded shows and continous music after 6pm and well into the following morning, over this Christmas period.

We have Ed Smith on here in the background this afternoon and he’s definitely live. And as per usual, he’s playing a stormer. There is something very soothing and relaxing about his shows, just the tonic for the day that’s in it. Excellent work yet again by Ed.

Ed is the man. Had block rock and beats on all day yesterday. The house was never as clean.

He's been behind the scenes in Today FM for the last 20 years or so possibly even back to the Radio Ireland days, great to see him becoming one of the top names at the station, it's clearly been a long road. Dec Pierce and Claire Beck are quality too.

Dec Pierce is excellent too yes, and I think he’s up after Ed!
