Fixtures released the other day. This is clearly the biggest news:

The GAA has confirmed that Dublin have been given the green light to stage their home games in the 2011 Allianz Football League at Croke Park.
The agreement follows negotiations between the Dublin County Board and the GAA over the last six weeks and will see Pat Gilroy’s side play their four home Division 1 games at GAA Headquarters.

Dublin are due to play home games against All-Ireland champions Cork, Munster champions Kerry, beaten All-Ireland finalists Down and Mayo in 2011.
As part of the agreement, two of two of the fixtures will be double headers, with the Dublin hurlers’ Allianz Hurling League games serving as curtain raisers.
Dublin's opening Allianz League game is away to Armagh, before they host All-Ireland and reigning Allianz Football League champions Cork under the floodlights at Croke Park on Saturday, February 19. The action at Jones’s Road will commence with a mouth-watering curtain raiser between the Dublin hurlers and All-Ireland champions Tipperary.

A week later, Dublin’s traditional rivals and 2009 All-Ireland champions, Kerry, travel to the capital, while Mayo are the visitors to Croke Park on Sunday, March 20.

Saturday, April 2 sees a second fascinating double header, with Pat Gilroy’s footballers due to play Down and their small ball counterparts once again scheduled to start proceedings at Croke Park, this time against Kilkenny.
New Dublin chairman Andy Kettle welcomed the decision.

"We’re extremely happy, this is the result of six weeks of hard work and negotiations," he said.

"The games fit into our schedule nicely and this is a big part of our strategic plan as regards promotion of Gaelic games in the county.

Speaking last week, Uachtarán Chumann Luthchleas Gael Criostóir Ó Cuana said it was an ideal opportunity to utilise Croke Park.

“Croke Park is from a spectators point of view a lot more attractive than Parnell Park,” the Uachtarán said.

“And it may encourage more people to come to the game and support the home and away teams.

“It is more attractive in all senses for the Association. It also puts us in a position to make use of Croke Park now that we don’t have soccer and rugby and let it be available to our own games.”

Does anyone know the price of the double-headers? Won't want to miss the Tipp-Cork day.

Great now Croke Park is officially our home. Expect more complaints in 2011 about the dubs getting home advantage in the qualifiers.:(:(:(

Would Dublin get enough support at league games to justify using Croker?

Maybe for the Cork and Tipperary double header but for the rest of them I can only see around 20,000 turning up. GAA are desperate for games in Croker as it is hardly used (apart from the club finals) from January - May

Depends on pricing too - look at the FAI cup final that got 30k+ attendance - if the GAA did something similar - e10 a ticket / free for juniors for each of the matches they could get a fairly big crowd for all the matches. Be a very good promotion for GAA in the capital too. They've had a few of the Dublin league matches there before and they've nearly been sell outs

Tickets for the five home games are on sale on Ticketmaster for 45 Euro.

That is less then a tenner per game, and it will incorporate two hurling matches and some female games (only hearsay, im not certain if that is the case).

It aint bad value. However, I feel that Dublin are forfeiting the advantage of Parnell Park, and it is another "Big Time Charlie" act which the ABD Brigade will love.

Still it's good value. Already have season ticket so doesn't really matter to me but it will be good to have good atmosphere in Croker in early February. Bandwagon will start earlier leading to a great atmosphere for first Championship match this year so long as the Dubs put up good performances against tough opposition we should be having more sellouts in Croker for the Dubs this summer. Could be a good marketing move by the GAA but I stress the word could.

Does anyone know anything about prices for the first double-header? Can only see the aforementioned €45 tickets.

As fas as I know you can only but package tickets form Ticketmaster for the Croker matches and not individual ones. I presume t won't be a sell out so I would have thought you could pay in at the gate

You'll definitely be able to buy tickets on the day, it is very unlikely to sell out. I'm surprised Ticketmaster don't have individual day tickets at the minute but they might closer to the game, so you could check back later. It works out cheaper to buy on the day anyway compared to the Ticketmaster site due to the lack of a service charge.
