    Hi,
just bought a guitar usb cable from maplins, but stumped as to how to play it through the computer speakers in realtime.
It appears to work i.e. can record via the sound recording (the wave form matches me playing the guitar) but can't figure out how to output it through the speakers. It windows xp.
    Any suggestions?

I would try over at the music production forum. I know that there are often issues with this and that is why most people use an external soundcard with studio monitors for this purpose as opposed to the usb leads or jack to jack on the internal soundcard.

I'd say you get some amp sims and run them through your DAW, it's the same as recording but you turn the monitoring on. I'd say you'll probably have some latency issues without using a decent interface/soundcard but with a bit of tinkering you could get it to work for you.
