    Hi,

Could anyone tell me if the NRA/Councils will be gritting or salting the roads on Christmas day?

I'll probably have to wait to travel but not if the roads are lethal. I'm inclined to think they will grit but you never know in this country! Thankfully I'll just be travelling M and N routes.

    Thanks.

i think its very unfair to expect people to be out christmas day gritting roads. they all have familys to be spending it with, not out shovelling along roads or driving machines.

traffic on roads should be minimal tomorrow and the roads as of yet, are not that bad, if people just drive with care, everybody will get home safely,

Tell that to the Gardai, Firemen, doctors, nurses etc. And this year, the Bus Eireann drivers who are going to be working.

Why don't you just stay at home and eat your christmas dinner ;)

If you were a separated father, and wanted to see your kids on christmas day, you might understand. Its not every day that you are given access to your children for a few hours:(

Not sure about today, but they were gritting late into the evening last night on the M4 and M6.

Lets not forget the hundreds of staff working for the likes of Vodafone, O2 and Meteor in Operations or Customer Care. Sure you might as well throw in all of the utility companies too..

Am sure homerjay2005 would find it perfectly acceptable if no one in the ESB's Customer Care answered the phone if he woke up this morning to find that there was a power cut.
