Only affects one cylinder, so at least it keeps going. Seems worse when car is warmed up. Tried replacing plug, plug lead.
Just comes and goes at will.

Any chance these are covered by recall :D
They are Sagem coil packs, we have the part # wrote somewhere if that helps...
Edit : twin coilpack type, not the pencil ones.

If its only affecting one cylinder then a coilpack is not a likely culprit as I assume this is a waste spark system.
Can you identify which cyl. the fault occurs on?? and swap components to see if the miss moves

Are you sure its a spark issue and not a fuel/air issue?

me old 1995 punto was only firing on one cylinder and it was down to the coil pack. it wasn't big money to get spurious.

edit: meant was firing on three cylinders. one wasn't firing at all.

Hmmm, I was suspecting a fuel air problem, but the plug definately has some petrol on it when it's not firing. I know that says nothing about the spray but I will assume the injector will not work well, then suddenly fail then work perfectly again. I guess a sticking valve will have an audio component. The change from working to non working and back is very sudden. It has some injector cleaner in the tank now anyway.

It's cyl 3. It might be worth swopping the coilpack and see if it follows the pack. Should be on cyl 1 then.

yep. try cyl3 on the other coil pack.

Sorry I thought you had already swapped around the coils.
Yeah swap them around and you'll probably find its the coil thats the problem. It should be a fairly cheap fix.

swopped the coils around and it followed it, that's it so. Thanks for info.
PS where is good place to buy them pricewise? Bro was dissapointed when he went to local motor factors who said they had them only to find it's the wrong kind (male connectors for plugs?)

    Breakers around €20-€30
