Frozen Pipes

Pipes froze last night so there is no water in the cold tap in the kitchen but there is water from the attic tank for bathrooms etc.

Question is can i turn on the heating without worry of damaging the heating system?

Its gas heating that heats the rads n water etc.

Dunno what water feeds what where when it comes to the heating system.

    Any other tips appreciated also!

    Thanks

In the same situation myself for the past few days. I have my heating on without any problems. Have dual (oil and solid fuel). Have a small tank alongside the main tank in the attic.

Not sure how far you are from your neighbours but what I did was run a garden hose from my neighbours outside tap and plumbed it into my mains under the sink. Wasnt sure if the pressure was going to be enough but thankfully it is and its feeding my tank and sink. I just disconnect it at night otherwise it would freeze. Makes life a lot easier than going without.
