    Hi,

I have got a Belling Fridge which is out of warranty and needs to be fixed.
The bottom half of the fridge is freezing everything -
I've gone through all the troubleshooting steps in the manual etc.

I rang Dimpico who put me through to a service engineer who more or less was'nt interested in fixing it.
I also rang another couple of places who also turned it down?

Any ideas on how you can get a fridge fixed these days?

I think the part that is broken is the thermostat - but I could be wrong.

Just ring the retailer you bought it from and ask them for a number for an independent engineer they don't turn down work.

    Yes they will -
I rang Dimpico who look after all in warranty services and since mine was out of warranty they gave me a number of the local service guy - when I rang him and spoke to him I could tell he was'nt interesting in the work.

    Anyway -

    I called this fellow
    http://www.driscollrepairs.com/index.htm

He charged €70 for a call out fee and another €70 for thermostat.
But he was'nt entirely sure it was the thermostat so he replaced it anyway and only charged for €90 all in.
He said that if this didnt fix the problem I would have to replace the fridge.
