Dublin to Cootehill for Christmas?

Just wondering if anyone has travelled this route either via Navan-Kingscourt or via N3-Virginia-Stradone in the past few days? Need to come to a decision whether to stay in Dublin or brave the elements and make the trek home to Cootehill. Are the roads really actually that bad, or is it there a bit of hype going on?

    cheers

I'll be leaving later today for Cavan.

If I were you I would not go near Stradone, go via Cavan.

    Prob a bit late :).

Main problem was getting out of my estate. N3 was terrible also, as soon as you hit Meath(M3) it was grand.

Virginia to Cavan was OK. You needed to concentrate.
