Laser hair removal

    Hi everybody,

I am hoping to get laser hair removal treatments done soon, and after looking through older posts on boards.ie and trawling the internet, I have narrowed it down to a few places - Urbana, Therapie and Slender Health Beauty in Raheny. Slender Health seems to offer the best prices, and Urbana has gotten such good reviews and its website is really impressive. Therapie seems to fall somewhere inbetween!

My question is about the laser machines these salons use - I know that it is better to go for medical laser than IPL, and Therapie and Urbana seem to use great machines (Soprano XL) but Slender Health uses one I haven't heard of before - Polaris. Does anyone know anything about this machine?

Also, I saw a too-good-to-be-true deal today on citydeals.ie, 80 euro for 6 laser hair removal sessions at ClearSkin clinic in Tallaght. I was just wondering if anyone knows about the company - are there any good? It seems like such a good deal I think there must be a catch!!

    Thanks a million!

I can't comment on other salons but I have been a loyal Urbana customer for a few years now. I have found them to be professional and incredibly nice! Going for laser can be a little embarrassing but their staff have always put me at ease.

The Soprano XL machine *is* painless. Now and then during a session I might feel one twang in particular, but that's it! Their old machine, well I used to get red after a session, and you would feel a little pain during the session, but this new Soprano one, it is amazing.

I hope I don't sound like a shill, because I am not. I found out about Urbana from another post on boards.ie and I haven't once regretted making my first appointment with them.
