UPC Graphics

    Got UPC today, the picture is fine but the TV Guide and graphics/font on the info screen are like a 1980s atari game, is this right? Surely they can have a nice slick font for a HD box!

    Im pretty sure that the EPG on the UPC box was actually designed on a ZX Spectrum. Although it would probably run faster and look better had it been designed on a ZX...

    So is this standard? In the Install booklet it seems better quality. Bit strange!

    I think i have the same problem your talking about.

    In the living room on my full hd 40inch sony with upc hd box the text on the guide is awful. Really bitmapped. Have altered everything i can think of. Picture quality is perfect. (also with scart connection )

    In the bedroom on a Philips hdready 26inch with the normal upc box the guide is fine, with smooth text.

    Really annoying, all be it not important.

    I had a similar problem with a Sky HD box. The problem was that it was set to 720p. I changed it to 1080i and problem solved. Maybe it is the same with the UPC box.
