The Filthy Animals in the old WCW spring to mind as do the equally shíte X-Pac fronted X-Factor.I also think that La Resistance,EV 2.0 and The New Breed have to be included aswell,oh and does anybody remember JBL's cabinet(Orlando Jordan,Bashams and a growth faced Jillian Hall!)

That thing in TNA at the moment followed by their attempt at ECW. Then Evolution. Jesus those HHH promos were desperate

The Oddities. Such an idiotic idea and such a crowd of useless wrestlers.

I'll give X-Factor a pass because of the theme song. JBL's cabinet is a good shout. I never liked the Full Blooded Italians. I don't think it elevated anyone.

The sound of that helicopter at the start of their music opening Raw every week followed by a 20 min painful HHH promo was the worst WWE TV in this decade. They were septic. Ya they produced Orton and Batista but the groups stay in WWE was painful. It was like I was being bullied through my TV screen every week when they came out. Awful.

The first nite of evolution was gas HHH had a Huge Bandage on his head in their tacky video.I nominate Main Event Mafia besides Kurt Angle the other 4 don't offer anything to Wrestling anymore. Did someone seriously say X-Factor had class music it was painfully bad.EV 2.0 & the spirit squad get mentions too. Also the J.O.B Squad but they had one of the best ever T-Shirt's."J.O.B Squad Pin me,Pay me"

giant silva should have been the second coming of andre, stupid vince not realising his potential :)

i hated Los Boricuas and Disciples of Apocalypse and then they feuded with one another

3 Minute Warning should be there too alongside the god awful Mean Street Posse and maybe Billy,Chuck and Rico aswell!

Have to say Evolution are one of my favourites, back when Randy Orton had a personality and good matches!

That theme was one of the worst things about them. Everything about them was awful to be fair.

Anyone remember "The Union"? Think it involved Foley and Shamrock. They lasted about a week feuding with The Corporation.

Same here ... the Disciples had a great name, and a pretty good biker gimmick, these guys should've rocked. But everything about them was just boring.

    Also Kai En Tai.

Terrible. The Truth Commision were about this period too. Utter garbage.

Lots of Attitude-era awfulness being mentioned here, something that is rarely spoken of when people say how terrible things are compared to 1997-2001.

I couldn't stand Right To Censor. Oddities awsell.

RTC were fantastic heels to be fair. If only for their entrance "music". I thought they did a great job.

Me too! "Faction action" can **** my ****s lol. When you're heading a team of ugly jobbers and you yourself are barely a mid-carder and have no crowd reaction, you know you're in trouble!!

Don't forget the Oddities and the Truth Commission! .......Hated X-Factor (X-Pac and Justin Olive Garden being two of my least favourite wrestlers) .... nWo jobbers (Scott Norton, Vincent etc)

Everyone in Raven's flock outside Raven. Oh, and EV2. I can't stand them. Get the F out you old bolloxes! Especially you, crying Dreamer.

Oddities were class in the sense that I got a good buzz off them. Terrible wrestlers like but there was a bit of a vibe off them

They were the greatest show as the song says. Remember when Droz took wicked offence to them for some reason and went after them? Great craic. No they werent Daniel Bryan but like they were only on screen for 5 mins a week max. They were much better than DOA anyway. Jesus now they were some effort to sit through

You're allowed to have **** when you also have fresh, cutting-edge approach to wrestling, with unbelieveable breadth of fresh talent on their rosters in the mid-card, tag and main-event scene.

There's a reason why RAW & Nitro combined got over 10.0 in the ratings on Monday nights, over 3 times what RAW does now!

I'm hardly saying that is was crap then, I am just saying that people tend to highlight the good points and ignore the bad. I just wrote a long list of reasons about the decline of wrestling in another thread, so I'm aware of what is wrong now. The attitude era had some terrible factions. They got carried away with the success of the NWO, D-X etc and tried to squeeze everybody into a faction of some sort.

I wasn't keen on it at the time (I think I remember Edge making fun of it one time on Raw) but it grew on me over time. Wouldn't want to be caught listening to it though. :D

The Obesity Alliance of ECW has beens in TNA recently was fair pathetic.

    The Alliance To End Hulkamania

Such an awful, awful stable and the match at Uncensored was abysmal.

was just watching the build up to that the other day actually, terrible but holy crap was Jeep Swenson huge at the time, if hogan had 24 inch arms he had 34 inchers at this time

TBH, Legacy and Straight-Edge Society would be on my list of the worst of all time. But I suppose Spirit Squad would also get a mention as well

The new Degeneration-X of late 2000 was awful, it was Chyna, Billy Gunn, Road Dogg, and...........R-Truth  and they had one feud with The Radicalz before disbanding.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,258 ✭✭✭✭Losty Dublin

I can't believe that people have not mentioned....
    • The Dudes with Attitude in NWA, circa 1990. Formed when Sting was all but handed the World title from Ric Flair; cringeworthy at best.
    • The Desperadoes, WCW 1991; a team so bad that they actually caused Stan Hansen to leave the promotion at the suggestion that he team with them.
    • The Clarence Mason led Nation of Domination. Yeah, Owen Hart was soooo black:rolleyes:

K-Kwik was never in DX, he was Gettin' Rowdy with Road Dogg when they had a one off team-up with THE ONE Billy Gunn and Chyna at Survivor Series after the group was disbanded.

Aww I always thought the Cabinet was awesome, minus Jillian's growth as all that was just stupid but they were what a proper stable should be, JBL one of the best speakers in WWE and 3 lackey's that weren't by any means useful, but could hold their own. JBL was the WWE Champ, Orlando was the US (Or IC) and Bashams were Tag champs it was the perfect stable in my eyes.

ECW ONS always sticks out with all the WWE guys basically cueing up behind JBL as he was the main man, made it seem like they were afraid of him, proper stable loved them.

The Un-Americans were pretty bad, by then anti-American jibes had been done to death, and the stupid thing is that most of the wrestlers they feuded with weren't even American themselves

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 6,315 ✭✭✭Jazzy

straight edge was mega-****. its like "why bring in cm punk into this!? he can get over enough on his own without being trailed by 2 talentless journeymen". I hate when they form a stable just 'cos. like with the nWo you had a solid base, same with DX and somewhat with the corporation. look what the corporation did for the rock, look what DX did for HHH.. look what nWo did for... oh wait

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,808 ✭✭✭Sirsok

Edges La Famillia was fair sh!te Edge, Vickie, Chavo, Hawkins, Ryder and Bam Neely. Along with savio vega's stable in around 98

Dunno if they can be counted as a stable, but the mean street posse were just fuking horrible

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,801 ✭✭✭✭Exclamation Marc

    T & A.

They sucked the life out of anything, just two big boring planks of wood who were devoid of personality. The only good thing was Stratus, but faction-wise they sucked.

And I really disliked DX the last time round. HBK/HHH and Hornswaggle, christ it was painful to watch.

    The Union

UP YORS! What a russoriffic idea for a stable. The Jim Duggan 2x4s were the icing on the turd.

I always hoped Shamrock would form a stable with Blackman, Owen, Severn and maybe Angle/Benoit if they were still around at the time. Oh well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 685 ✭✭✭Cactus Colm

The NWA stable in the late 90's .. Jim Cornette leading Jeff Jarrett, Dan Severn, Barry Windham, and the New Midnight Express (Boombastic Bob (Holly) and Bodacious Bart (Gunn)).

and LOD 2000, the Road Warriors were obviously a great tag team, even if they were stale as xpac at that stage. Throwing Droz into the mix didn't help at all.

good jesus yeah that new nwa angle was horrific - quite literly no redeeming featues at all.

what was cornette thinking allowing himself to be a part to that?

Although he pretty much sold his soul to WWF by doing that (as he dearly loved oldschool wrestling and the nWa), he probably knew that WCW weren't interested/burnt his bridges with those on-screen shoot interviews and needed a paycheck.
