My husband is severely depressed. His father committed suicide a few years ago and his brother has suffered from depression since then, My husband has been so sad lately and he really doesn't want to feel like that; We communicate well and I know he loves me and our children. He has agreed to go for councilling in the new year but Christmas is a worry for me.

Don't know what I am looking for here, just some understanding I suppose, feeling very sad and stressed. I will do anything I can for him and he knows that. Just want to help him

Right now there's only one thing you can do: be there for him. Youre so close to help, just hang in there a little bit longer. Make sure you have someone to talk to as well, as you can't and shouldn't bear this all on your own. Stay strong.

    Take care

Have he/you spoken to your GP. This should be your first call. If doesnt agree to go tell him you are going to bring him or get the doctor to call.
Be patient, try to be understanding, I know it is very difficult sometimes.
    Have a great Christmas.
