Just to say that how could this be? leaving customers over the busiest and most litter producing time of the year for a fortnight before next collection. I pay a lot of money to this company every year and I would have thought that they could have done a collection next week, I realise it's christmas but there is ample time. How does everyone else fair with their private refuse collectors?

January the 3rd is next collection for me, only found out now! was expecting
a collection Monday and the bin is fairly full already.

Surprised they made it to collect the bins last week to be honest as the internal roads
    in the estates were lethal.

So it seems that customers who have collections on a Saturday, Monday and/or Tuesdays are shafted, mine being a Tuesday! afaik it was the same for the past couple of years. Should accomodate these customers though, Mr. Binman are making huge profits. Think i'l start looking around for other service providers,

My last collection was the 18th December. My next collection is the 8th January:eek:. 3 full weeks without any collection.

Plus last Saturday was recycling bin and January 8th will be recycling. Thats 5 weeks my general waste bin will net be collect :eek:

    I need to give them a call I think.

Edit: I'm with Clean Ireland but above still stands!!

Edit: P.S. just checked will be collected on Monday. Anger subsiding aaahhh

    Clean Ireland are great.

And for those of you like me... who have very little rubbish and no money for Mr Binman's overpriced service.... (Or just want to make the one off trip over the Christmas) The BIG BIN at Bennets Garage opposite Roxboro garda station takes a full black bag and a half black bag of rubbish for 4 euro 50 cents! Ticket from shop and load up the drum yourself.

I've made 2 trips in 4 months - at a total cost of 13.50 euro! SWEEEEEET!

**** your Mr binman, I've a horse outside!

Mr Binman have a reputation for being 'rubbish' (pun intended:D).

Nearly signed up with them a couple of months ago, but decided not to after reading a thread on here about how crap they are. Stayed with my usual company, Country Clean - They are €20 dearer, but worth it for their reliability, and there are NO changes to Country Clean collections at all over the Christmas, everything is being collected on it's usual collection today.

Would give the Country Clean lads a tip for Christmas if I ever saw them, but when I get up at 8am they've already been and gone..........;)

I was wondering where this was, I thought at one point
they had recycle bins at the back of Centra near South Court Hotel at some point and now it seems they are gone,
was curious to know about someplace where you could bring extra rubbish in a bag.

Whats the deal with these things ?
    How do you pay?
what if your black bag is too big?
    is it automated/self service ?
is there something in place to prevent people from abusing the system ?

I see AES advertising/leafleting heavily. Anyone using them?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,618 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

Yeah I just signed with AES. I was with CleanIrl for the last 4 years, paying about €350 a year. Ended up putting the bins out about once every 6 weeks, so each collection was really costing me €45.

I got the sales spiel from the AES guy in the Parkway, and switched over. Its 50 every 6 months (I think rises to 75 at some stage), and payment is by a pay as you go system -- so you top up your account with €20 (for example) and that'll do you for about 2 collections. I'll end up paying them half what I was paying CleanIrl.

    Every cent counts these days.

I'm currently with Mr Binman, one collection every fortnoight but when this contract ends I'm going to give the Big Bin a go and see how that works for me.

Cheers, Mr E. If you sign up online, apparently, you get the first 6 months for €25. Think I'll give them a try in the New Year, sick of forking out €400/year to Mr Binman.
