"Tim and the Hidden People" Story books from - 1970s - 1980s

    Hi all

    I just wanted to post up a message about a set of story books our teacher
    used to read to us in school in the 1980s.

    This is in case anyone is trying to identify these books by entering keywords
    into a search of boards.ie


    The books are called "Tim and the Hidden People"

    They were about a boy called Tim who went on adventures with a
    talking black cat called Tobias.
    Tim could see people that no one else could see.

    Tim had a special key that he used to see the hidden people.

    There was a canal barge in the story.

    The Hidden People used to hold secret meetings.

    Here is some more info from Wikipedia :

    Tim and the Hidden People by Sheila K McCullagh is a 1970s
    reading scheme originally devised for young children 4-7yrs.

    It consists of 32 books, each 32 pages long and illustrated by Pat Cook
    and later Ray Mutimer.
    There are also four lesser known paperback "novella" books intended
    for older readers. The books were recently reprinted in a new format.

    The Tim books are about a boy called Tim who lives in
    a house in The Yard. The books begin with Tim finding
    a key which enables him to see the Hidden People,
    he befriends Tobias the black cat and has many adventures.

    Sheila McCullagh also wrote many other books including Puddle Lane,
    The Village with Three Corners, Dragon Pirate Stories, Griffin Pirate Stories et al.
