could you get some big fat velcro rollers?? i dont have long hair so ive never tried, but they might be easier, roll them into the ends of damp hair, blast them with the dryer and then unroll them and just use your fingers to comb through. also get a wide toothed comb, not a brush. or if you have a ghd theyre good for making curls. or a hot tong thingy, instead of the hairdryer.

I never knew you could use curlers with a hair dryer that would probably work! Do people normally do it that way?

i think you can, i had some years ago, just velcro, got them from boots, and the velcro just sticks them to your head, put them in nearly dry hair and then use the hairdryer until they are dry, and use mousse or something so it holds better.

my friend has lovely hair and she washes her hair at night then puts plaits in while she sleeps and it comes out nice too.

Yep blasting the velcro rollers would just be like using hot rollers. They're very handy. You can pop them in for and then go about your business, and pull them out when you're ready to go!

Heated rollers are great too and might be easier for your boyfriend to learn how to put them in...be careful when your taking out the rollers, you need to twist with the curl rather than against it..this is really important!

PS fair play to you for trying blow drying bouncy curls! its virtually impossible if your not a trained hairdresser and doing it on your own hair. I have tried for many years!

Ooh rollers sound like the job so. I was something quick and easy enough to do maybe twice a week. I went through a phase of ragging it but it took too long. Gonna get some curlers so tomorrow, would you get heated ones in boots or do I need to go somewhere special? Also how do you heat them up? Thanks again :)

    I have these with ages.

find the great. I only use 6 of the larger ones leave them in for 3hrs hair looks like a shorter version of the pics. Very easy to put in as long as you have the hair sectioned. I use Tresemme curling spray on hair before putting them in.

You can get them all in Boots. The velcro ones come in different size packs, and you might need more than one pack. I have the Babyliss Thermo-Ceramic ones and you get large, medium and small in it. Find them great.

Does your friend dry her hair or leave it wet/damp when doing this?

    Thanks.

    I'd imagine damp hair.

I let mine dry naturally and it dries quite nice - so others say anyway! I sleep on it, and don't put any products in it and its lovely and wavy.

Can anyone explain the technique for drying curls? Is there anywhere online that I could learn from? Everytime I tried to do the curls my hair just ended up knotted around the brush

    Any tips appreciated! :)

Did you use a big round brush and keep it moving? Serum?

If you use the brush but keep it stationary, ie, wrap the section of hair around the barrell, not move it, blast it with heat, and then try to untangle it, that's a recipe for disaster. But if you keep twisting the barrell of the brush, it keeps the hair moving and the hair should just glide through when it is dry, making it easy to remove the brush. It takes a little practice but it's the easiest thing. Also, give your hair an all-over blast of heat first, using your fingers. Only start with the styling brush when it's 80% dry.

None of my friends with wavy/curly hair go near hairdryers, at most they use a diffuser.

Back in the day when I had super long, naturally very straight hair, I curled my hair like this and it stayed in for about 2-3 days. When you first take the buns out your hair is HUGE but it gradually deflates after about an hour :P

I did it when my hair was still quite damp and I had mousse in my hair.
