hi,
i have an acer aspire 5050..it often becomes very hot when it is resting on my lap and often the fan is running making very loud noises too etc.
this has been ongoing pretty much since i bought it 3 years ago..not always but at times..
but today it has been making an odd noise...it is as if the motor is struggling, (i dont know if a laptop has a motor per se but something must drive the fan right? could be the processor or something but the noise is bugging me and im concerned about my laptop dying on me.. it is a different noise to usual anyway,

any insight or advice?
