    heres possibly a silly question, but does anyone know what is the topping on a coffee slice cake?

    obviously icing sugar but what else for colour and flavour?

    hmm.......the reason i ask is because i hate coffee, but love the topping on those cakes so thought maybe it was a caramel or something

    My husband is the same, hates coffee, loves coffee cake.

    It's all the sweetness of the sugar!

    I don't know for certain, but I'd bet it's icing flavoured with irel coffee essence.
