I've never noticed this being recommended here

In all the recommend me a car threads I don't ever recall the current Mitsubishi Lancer being recommended.

Looks wise I think it looks very well. Other than that I know nothing about them or the petrol/diesel engines they run.

Are they bland or just a victim of the bland boxes (apart from EVO's) that went before

My uncle is a panel beater and had a brand new one in for a bit of work recently. I have to say if I ended up with that after spending moeny on a brand new car, I'd be very dissappointed. It felt dated, tinney , devoid of anything youd expect in a new car and just overall a big letdown.

Up until the last few weeks, the new model has only been available with the 1.5 Petrol engine.

We actually have an 08 one on Fleet which is due back next year. At the time, it was very reasonably priced for that size of vehicle and has decent standard equipment.

I love the exterior (and we stuck a fair size rear spoiler on), but the interior is bland, 90's quality plastic.

Drove it around the building and the engine felt fairly decent for a 1.5 Petrol.

They had the vag 2.0 tdi 140 in It too in the uk. Emissions were band D or something so a bit of a non runner.

Presume the 1.8 di-d mivec has been added.

Had one for a day when my x1 was in getting some work done and must say it was horrible inside ( I like the outside) and the petrol engine was gutless and needed to flogged to get anything out of it.

Like others have said interiors have comae a long way and for a car that was release at the start of 08 its terrible and built or moulded to a very low budget

Fitzy drives a Mitzy !! would prefer a horse outside, they are seriously bland but appear reliable, so all depends what you want:D
