Attempted Murder in Ireland..

    Does anyone know when the last person convicted of 'attempted murder' in Ireland was??
    From my understanding the offence of attempted murder exists in the common law shared with UK etc but I am not aware if it has been affirmed in any Irish statue law? Surely this needs to change?
