I'm wondering the best route to go from the M1 to Ballsbridge, specifically near Wellington Road. I'll be driving there shortly after Christmas - it'll be a Monday so the port tunnel may be €10 at the time I'm going!

I'm thinking Drumcondra, turning left onto North Circular Road, crossing Samuel Beckett Bridge, heading to Northumberland Road, then turning right onto Pembroke Road.

Would that be right? Is there a quicker/easier way?

    Thanks.

Port Tunnel is only tolled at €10 for peaktime hours; mornings inbound and evenings outbound plus Monday and Tuesday are public holidays so it will be €3 all day, assuming it's open.

As it happens, your route mentioned is perfect bar the turn at NCR; turn off at Belvedere Place which is the one before it and you are there :)

Thank you! Sorry, I meant turn left at Belvedere Place and then immediately turn left onto North Circular Road - is that what you mean?

As it happens, I'll be heading at around 12pm or so, and the Port Tunnel is €3 southbound after 10am which is fine - is it much faster though? In this case I don't think it would make much difference, although I could be wrong.

    Thanks for answering :)

Judging from the traffic I see from the bus I'd definitely pay the 3 quid. Apart from the time saving it'll cost more in fuel by not taking the tunnel.

Well I thought about that, but at 12pm in the day I'm hoping the traffic wouldn't be too bad. Plus it's a small 1.3L so slow traffic driving is probably less hard on petrol than motorway driving, I'm not sure :)

On a normal traffic day I'd agree with you but on a Public Holiday it won't be any saving.
