OMFG...the next 4x4 driver who holds me up i'm gonna drag the f***er out of it and bury his head in the snow....
I'm sick of these fools crawling along at 40kph on the fkn motorway on which is basically just a wet road.......:mad:

I'm of the opinion that there should be a seperate driving test for these yolks...they (not all btw) just havent a clue ....

    Rant over...back to work..:o

Passed a suzuki 4x4 on the inside lane on snow at about 6kph.

Idiot was sitting across 2 lanes behind cars that were turning right.

Hadn't the brains to use big round disc in front of him to move the fuuuu on.

Rant agreed with loth F wits out there.

Also sick of people not getting the notion that keeping momentum is absolute key especially when coming to hils.

omfg sums it up in one, hit a steep hill today, left myself plenty of room to get some steam up, idiot in Yaris (all windows covered in snow) spinning out, uber idiot in Rav 4 breaks behind it, I say bugger this, keep her lit, indicate round both and the Rav 4 just pulls out, the opposite side of the road was clear so I moved over, think I glanced the curb but left both of them stuck-
obviously the Rav was beeping its horn but thats to be expected I guess when people like me decide to go up a snow and ice laden hill above 10mph-

Lets not forget folks many of these '4x4s' aren't what they appear to be as people just bought them for the rugged image

Have to agree, some people are driving so slow that the are proving that they haven't a clue how to handle their car in these conditions. IMO most of the traffic problems are down to peoples driving and not solely the weather.

I went up the M2 yesterday evening at 60kmh in the outside lane, overtaking every other car, 4x4 and truck. They were all doing less then 30kmh. The whole motorway was covered in snow yes, but it was fresh snow, so at 60kmh my car was perfectly stable, not slipping, no tcs light flashing so that everyone else car could have done the same and 4x4's certainly would have had no issue.

You may have flown past me in the X-Trail. I braved it in the snow in the outside lane on the M2 for a little while, but lost my nerve after passing a truck and being forced in to the very deep stuff. Rekcon I was on the grass for a good bit.

At slow speed the X-Trail will get through/around/over anything. At anything over 20km/h on the slippy stuff it starts shifting around in the ruts, and the back end has a tendancy to slide out. Front end grip (with all season M+S Tyres) is appalling.

Followed the rest of the sheep in the inside lane, but made sure to move as far over as was safe when someone braver than I went on the outside.

Was down to one lane because some drivers are afraid to travel in the outside lane meaning the snow never gets cleared...

I have no problem giving the o/s lane a go , if i think its safe to me and others...
Was travelling down the N11 at Kilmac yesterday..pal in a silver punto crawling along on (again) the wet road..after 30secs of this I pull out into the snow-lane and over take him, he starts bipping the horn and flashing his lights....
I'm no hero and i'd never endanger someone else but it really annoys me at the lack of cop-on and confidence of other drivers..:(

I was doing 60kph no problem on one of Kildare roads today, and that fcn Beemer with Pakistanian driver(not being racist or so) was doing 5kph!!! Couldnt overtake him. Myself and about 20other drivers had to follow him up for about 10km. IF YOU CAN'T DRIVE FASTER THAN 40KPH STAY AT HOME, PLEASE!!!

i.e. occupant of the oompa loompa persuasion, the mud is of the spray on variety, the driver has never had to navigate any terrain more challenging than the local Dunnes carpark (wouldn't be seen dead at LIDL or ALDI) and the biggest haul it ever had to drag home where a few bags of shopping.
Those are the same people who appear at garages all over the country saying "my brakes are broken, the pedal keeps vibrating!"
These people where Micra drivers in another life.

Well I was on the N3 today and it was a mess, most folks taking it slow... Then a nutcase in a Passat went to overtake, he got caught in a rut of slush on the road, spun out and ran up the bank...
Must admit I did smile... at 50kph I got on fine

In these conditions you need to give people space, even nervous drivers deserve to be on the road and not be bullied...

It has to be said though there are some idiots out there driving way too fast for the road conditions, only an hour or so ago I was driving at a safe speed in a 4x4 only to be over taken by some d!ckhead in a Volvo S40 driving as if the roads were fine, I came across him about ten minutes later on his roof ringing for a recovery truck. It's all very well if you want to kill yourself but at least have some consideration for other road users.

I saw the SnowSocks for the first time on a vehicle today: a Hyundai Santa Fé abandoned at an angle into a parking bay  - would be one for the obnoxious parking thread.

So, a combination of they can't drive, can't RTFM or they bought a psuedo "4x4" for show.

I'd put it down to them being total gobsh*tes myself.

I got stuck on the hill in Rathdrum in Wicklow on Tuesday evening because the dope in the Mercedes jeep in front of me decided to slow down going up the hill. Needless to say my comments were not fit for a family audience.

X-trails are only 4 wheel drive below a certain speed i think. once you go over what ever that speed is, it goes to front wheel drive only. sounds like the movie speed but i dont think it will blow up.

There is a switch to move it between 2wd, Auto (4x4 for the most part) and Lock (locks all the diffs - crabs along on that setting :( )

There was one of those on its roof a few days ago opposite slane castle gates.
And another one pulled out at a junction in front of me with its front wheels spinning! I thought they were 4WD!
