Washing machine water

    Hi folks

I am in a new Rented house & want to use the washing machine but the mains cold water (downstairs kitchen) is frozen. Does the WM run off the mains or the cold water tank. I won't use it if its the latter as obviously need to conserve water.

The in-pipe to the machine goes into the ground/wall behind the machine.

House is 3 years old. Can anybody give any advice on this please?

    Many thanks
    :)
