What Happened to Tornado Tag?

Shamelessly stolen from another forum, thought it was an interesting topic:

We see it in the video games, we see it matches past, but what happened to Tornado Tag matches? 4 guys, 2 teams, 1 winner. Whether it's elimination, cage, extreme rules. Does anyone else miss them or wonder why they arent booked as much?

1) What was your favorite Tornado Tag match

2) Book your Dream TT match, including which superstars and stipulations.

As far as WWE goes - possibily don't have them anymore because could'nt give a cr*p abut the tag team scene for quite a while now, so any way to make it more interesting just does'nt cross their minds

Elsewhere, i could be wrong, but was'nt the cage match in MCMG/Beer Money's best of 5 bascially a tornado tag? maybe not offically but i don't remember many tags in it...

Dream match - Hart Foundation vs. Edge & Christian (Basically my two fav teams ever, i also would have loved to have seen the Harts take part in a TLC with the Dudleys)

I think with Fatal 4 Ways and multi-man (elimination) tags killed it off.

1) I honestly can't think of any off-hand. I'll have to check google...

Nope. I guess that MMG match wins by default. Could be worse, they're my favourite tag team of all time.

2) Angle and Benoit vs KENTA and Davey Richards.
No stips, just them battering each other @ a high-octane pace for 30 minutes :pac: That'd never fly in America so I'll book it in Japan

Strategically placed Angle and Benoit on the same team because we've seen them fight. Hmmm......maybe I could add Dynamite and Senshi into the mix lol.

The MCMG matches are pretty high on my list of best tornado tags. Before them, ECW had some pretty awesome tornado tags. I have especially fond memories of The Eliminators, The Gangsters and The Dudley Boys tornado tags circa 1996.
