    hey all
Sorry if this was posted before but I read back a few pages and didnt see much about it.

Im a big fan of boxing.I think I finally decided to take the plunge and give it a proper go instead of just watching as a spectator. If I was going to do it I'd only do it I was able to be competive I think.Im 20 which I know is pretty late to start but I have been in the gym most of my teenage years so I'm fairly strong.

Anyway meandering post coming to an end I heard a few places that to be competitive you'd need to be going 4 or more times a week?Would anyone know a rough estimate on what each boxing session would cost?I heard a few places its a fiver per week and others its per session?Or does the price of different boxing clubs vary so much I'd be better ringing my local club for a price?

You'r not too old, boxing clubs are'nt ran for profit so training in your club should be relativly cheap, maybe one hundred fifty euros for the year or two euros everytime you go down training or somthing like that.
twice a week would be enough training wise, obivously the more the better
but assumeing your getting sparring those nights it would be enough, best of luck.

To be competitive, novice level you would want to train 2-3days, clubs are quite cheap, best thing to do Is to go local-find a club willing to take on an adult beginner

Rush Boxing club and Rush Martial Arts head coach.

Instead of starting a new thread im gona jump in here.

Wondering if anyone here is involved with drimnagh boxing club or maybe knows abit about it..
Im looking to get back training but im 25 now and am not interested in competing anymore. I have boxed before so can train myself.
Drimnagh is a great club and nearby.
On the IABA site there is just a landline for contact number so thought id chance here first.

    sounds fairly cheap.

think the goin rate is a tenner a session for what you're goin for.

Not at all! A few clubs I have trained at we're 50c a session, (increased to €1), €2.50 a session and currently €20 a month (3 days a week). All AIBA reg'd. As someone said already, boxing clubs are a non profit association!
