It would appear that owners believed his Toyota could literally run on anything

Clearly, someone felt it needed to take the Daz challenge.

Toyota: The best built washing machines in the world

If we keep referring to them as that more people will put washing powder in. We have ourselves to blame

I stuck this up a while back. Bought my car and get it looked after there. Was talking to the service manager there the other week. He just threw his eyes up to heaven...the mind boggles sometimes...

A possible scenario is that the car suffered hgf and someone suggested that they flush the system with washing powder to clean it.

I have been told it isn't uncommon for some home DIY's to flush the coolant system with washing powder and water however this numpty did it to the block.

Alternatively a helpful child did it.

My brother once put pee in the petrol tank of the lawnmower and followed it up the following week with cement.

It wouldn't be the first time a Toyota has been mistaken for a washing machine :pac:..

I guess there was talk of detergent additives in Oil.
This guy obviously thought detergent was the same as washing powder.
Still seems kind of dear for an 02 with 140k miles?

That's a rather Bold asking price given that it probably needs an engine.

Removing the Ariel from this car isn't that straight forward.

Gets rid of 99% of stains. There is obviously one stain, a Toyota Avensis, that the washing powder just couldn't tackle. :D

    Look at the price
It's a non-runner and he wants 1400 quid for it. Should be moved to dreamers thread

Ya surely that car has zero value.

Why would anyone put washing powder in the car?

And furthermore, why would anyone pay €1,400 for a car that doesn't drive?

2 weeks ago we had a customer with a brand new Honda Insight, who managed to fill the puncture kit foam into the CVT gearbox. Now the fill plug is well hidden on the side of the gearbox...
He said he was trying to top up the engine oil...
The car drove for a while, then it started cutting out and finally the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree :D
He got away with a new gearbox filter and a flush.
