Its a locked to o2 16 gig 3G. I'm trying to decide how much its worth to sell on adverts. It comes with a USB, an aftermarket charger and i'll throw in a nice belkin rubber case. It is on 5.15.04 baseband so can only be factory unlocked or unlocked after updating to ipad baseband. The back is a bit dull and scratched but the front is grand except for a tiny crack on the bottom corner.

I know people will try to haggle with me on adverts so what should I put as my asking and what should I accept for it?

here's my ad if you want to have a look and tell me what you think

O2 locked handset, scratched screen etc, maybe 250 give or take.
i just bought 2 factory unlocked 3GS, both mint, with no scrapes front or back for my bro and sis, and paid 300 each.

Why don't you jailbreak it? I did it last night. It's really easy and then you can bump the price up a bit.

jailbreak doenst bump the price up im afraid, its a free program/unlock so the only thing that bumps the price up is condition and factory unlock status.

Do you think I should do the iPad unlock on it?

It might make some people less likely to buy it

No, I wouldn't put the iPad baseband on it. Some people might not accept the consequences and turn them off the sale. Just make sure to let everyone know that it can be done.

    In his dreams, its a 3g, not a 3gs

    While on this topic folks:
have a Black iphone 3GS, 16GB, network unlocked,
a few small scuff marks at the back, one scratch on screen,

its about 18 months old and as with all 3GS the battery life is poor (comparing to my iphone 4 anyway).

what should I sell it for?

I'd say about 350. You'd be lucky to get that, if you want a quick sale go for 300.

Charge it before you show it to anyone and don't mention the battery problem. :pac:

    How poor is the battery?

Very poor, needs charge almost twice a day with any kind of moderate usage.
Might state this up front and offer it for 200?

dont put it up on adverts without stating the battery is poor
you will get banned for doing so if the buyer complains and said they werent told

I have an 8Gb iPhone 3G. But the silent button has come off. Is there a way to get it back on? Apart from that it's in good condition,
what do you think that's worth? 200e?

Would 150 be a better price? The prices of the ones on there vary alot.
Is 500 the cheapest iPhone 4's go for?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,587 ✭✭✭✭guil

i've seen one for 440 on adverts

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,758 ✭✭✭✭TeddyTedson

440 is good. Don't see why the iPhone 4 is so much more expensive than the 3GS. It's not that much different bar the camera.
