Frozen Radio?

    Hello motoring peoples...yet another cold-related-car-question.

I've just recently gotten a 98 Primera, and since the cold weather the radio's stopped working altogether. It had been working fine when I got the car, then when the cold hit, it wouldn't work when the car started, yet when the car warmed up, it came on. However, since last Thursday, it's just gone altogether-there's no lights, no nothing.

I've been taking the car out each day for 20-40mins to get it warmed up and running, the battery is new, everything else in the car (electrics wise, ie elec.window/sunroof/dash display/interior lights) is working fine. I'm not too bothered about the loss of radio at the moment, I'm just worried whether it might be a sign of something else amiss that I wouldn't pick up, and could it lead to other damage?

Cheers muchly to anyone who can shed any light!

p.s. To all who've posted winter driving tips, thank you, I've learned a lot in the last few weeks!

If it's the original radio, it's 12 years old, could just be old age.

Yeah, kinda hoping that's it-just don't want it to be something that could be indicative of another problem! Thanks : )

Our stopped working too. Hoping a thaw will help but I doubt it!

    It's probably a loose connection.

What happens when people are selling an old car they take out a good stereo and bang in an old one. They typically don't take much care with the connections as they aren't keeping it. Then it becomes the problem of the next owner...
