Jump start question

    Hey there,

Have had a problem with my battery dying twice over the last few weeks, which I put down to the weather.
Both times I managed to jump start it correctly , but the second time ( today ) it took a few go's before I got it running, and had to leave the jumping car running for a quite a bit longer than the first time a few weeks ago.
I don't use the car that much ( I get the bus to work ) so only really use it for local driving but despite this, will really need it over Christmas.

Is the fact that its gone twice ( despite the weather ) evidence of the battery being on the way out , or is due solely to the weather??
If the battery is okay , what can I do to make it less likely that I will to jump start it again ??
The battery is just over a year old by the way.

    AB

If you needed to jump start it a second time within a week or so of the first time, i'd put it down to the cold and the lack of use. How much has the car been driven since you first jump started it?

It sounds like the battery has never been fully recharged since you first jumped it, you need to drive it a good distance in one continuous journey to properly give it a good charge, not a 5 minute drop down to the shops.

Go for a good 45 minute drive and you should be set for Christmas. Or pick up a battery trickle charger in your local motor factors.

To be honest , very little. 3 or 4 journeys to the shops.
Will take her for a good run tomorrow ( if I can , looks grim out there.. )
    Cheers for the help :)
