How much was it? the address I have is:
    Driver CPC Unit
    Moy Valley Business park
    Primrose Hill
    Dublin Rd
    Co. Mayo

I take it they changed address. I find it laughable that they didn't even tell me how much it is:pac:

Hey guys ,i got my cpc last september-october i think it was.Im just wondering by what date will i have to do this once a year cpc exam thingy?.
Can i do it at any time off this year or is there a set date for it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40 Grimpeur

You can do all 5 CPC modules in whatever time frame you want -
One every year for the 5 years or all within one year - break it up as you wish - just make sure you do all 5 within the 5 year period.

As far as I know, if you have a D category licence, then you have to do 6 modules within the 5 year period, but I'm not absolutely sure about that.

I got my digi card within 7 working days and the Loughrea address is the correct one.
And I had to pay by cheque.

Correct if you have the D category as well as the C category you have to do 6 modules. How do they expect unemployed drivers to fork out this money during a recession.
    Money hungry RSA bsatards.

Just an update, but I received my driver cpc card this morning, without paying any sort of fee.. Not that I'm complaining but all I got was a declaration form. So I take it it's free now??

Scratch that, I just realised it's the driver qualification card I have and not the digi taco card:o

I'd be careful with this one shielser. It's against the law to drive professionaly without a tacho card be it digital or Analogue. If the truck has both then request an Analogue and use it until your digital one arrives.

The truck won't have both digital and analogue.. this taken from Rsa site.....

    Driving without your card

You may drive without a card for a maximum of 15 days, provided you can prove your card was unusable during that time. If driving without a card, you must keep a record of your work and driving hours and can do this by taking a printout from your Vehicle Unit before and after your working day. These printouts must be signed on the back by you and include your driver number. Replacement cards are given priority.

gbob does this mean you can drive while waiting for a new card?? im a new driver. also how can you get a printout from the truck??

the rsa emailed me this morning saying ' i cant apply for my tachograph card untill i have gotten my licence back in the post, as they will need a photocopy of my licence, but i can drive a truck fitted with an analog system.

When applying r sending of my licence to get the new categorys added they told me it will take between 2-4weeks 2 get it back. what a joke

You can drive whilst awaiting a replacement card, but i dont know about waiting for a first issue.

This link will give you a digi tacho simulator to download, it'll show you how to use the tacho and get a vehicle printout... http://www.drivers-cpc.co.uk/index.php?page=freetacho

Also, i'd ring the Rsa in Ballina to clarify if you can drive a vehicle with a digi tacho while waiting for your card, they're quite helpful.
