Its a legal instrument to transfer ownership of a property to person, when they are not registered as the owners in the land registry. Its commonly used where people have been in residence in property they considered their own for a long period of time (there is normally a 40 year rule).

This is a mechanism being used to register you as the owner of the property (its an agreement with the landregistry office, and involves payment of a token to the office typically 1 Euro, to effect the change in registered owner.)

you're wrong. its a deed which "rectifies" an error in an earlier deed. Typically when it comes from the land registry it means that there is a problem with the map to the deed. Generally it is not something to get too worried about and is not something you should have to pay for either
