Will Leopardstown go ahead?

Just looking at the pictures of the course on Betfair: http://betting.betfair.ie/irish-racing/leopardstown-weather-watch-3-201210.html

The 'yes' market is favourite but it's absolutely bucketing down snow outside my house which is just a few miles away and it looks like it could freeze later. Fingers crossed the expected thaw comes around Christmas eve.

100/30 on in Ladbrokes that it'll go ahead.
Let's hope it will. 4/7 that Limerick goes ahead too,or 5/4 that both do.

It'll take an almighty thaw but its possible. Depends on how much falls tomorrow I'd say. Personally doubt it

Honestly hope it is on but i'm only 10mins away from the course and i'd say at least 4-6inches of snow have fallen all day today in the area. Not looking good:(

We still have a few days so hopefully. From what I've heard Down Royal is the biggest doubt out of our 3 tracks. We still have the 30th to refix to if needs be.

Same, I'm in Mount Merrion and we got about 8 inches of snow with more for tomorrow.

21st December - Day 5

Heavy snow fall has resulted in up to 8 inches of the white stuff on the course. The track was frozen hard yesterday before the snow began, so this recent fall can only compound concerns for the fixture.

My 4-6 inches is about right it just depend on what she looks like:p
More snow on the track today and even if the course is ok the grandstand and other surrounding area's mightn't be! Think the first couple of days of the meeting are hanging by a thread imo:(

Announcement today, I'd say the 26th and 27th will be shelved with an extra day on the 30th with the three days padded out. Can't see them racing on the 31st with Punch scheduled to go, unless they move some of the card to there.

Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if all the racing 26th-29th was cancelled and they employed contingency plan C:

6 Grade 1s, a Grade 2 & the PP Chase on the 30th.

Best card all year.

It would be a disaster.

Leop takes 40% of it's yearly revenue from these days, a loss of days could have long term effects on it's ability to operate.

Apologies if anyone took me up wrong.
I don't like to see the course lose out on revenue, or their staff to lose out on work. I meant even if they have to cancel, it's great that they are going to save all the good races.

If it's on tomorrow i'll definightly be going. Really wrecked all my plans for this Christmas but at least i'll have some funds for the 3rd day's racing for the first time in years!!! Back to work on Thursday so think i'll be goin tomorrow and Wednesday weather permitting of course! Hope Pandorama comes back to his best tomorrow and shows his true form pity What A Friend isn't running but can't blame Nicholls as the ground will be very testing
