Tax back on Travel Vaccinations

    Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anybody here can confirm that it's possible to reclaim the tax back on Travel Vaccinations?

I asked a few people at work, but got some different answers, and none of them 100% sure. Most of them said I can get 20% tax back from Revenue.ie, some others said I should contact our Medical insurance company, and one person even said that I can't because they weren't prescription based or something like that.

I got these jabs in January 2009 (apparently it's possible to claim back up to the last four years), but idiot that I am, have lost the receipts. I do still have my certificate though, so hopefully I can go back to the medical centre and ask for a re-print of my receipts.

I got six jabs, Hep A, Hep B (x2), Yellow Fever, Typhoid, and Revaxis, and I think I payed around 350 in total.

Thanks in advance for any advice.:)

If you can't get it back via travel insurance or health insurance, then you can put it onto a Med 1 claim and get 20% tax relief. It will go under the heading of "Services of a Practitioner".
