UPC HD box not recording scheduled items

My UPC HD box has recently started acting funny, a few programmes I know it has recorded (I've seen the "recording" icon during the live transmission) have disappeared, no sign of them anywhere, this has happened a few times in the last few weeks but not before that. Any suggestions other than asking UPC to replace the box?

Kind of similar happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Recorded programmes window suddenly showed 100% free! Still appeared to be recording stuff on the front of the box and on the mini guide but nothing ever did record. Lost 85% on the HD including the whole Planet Earth series in HD! Damn! Very annoying. UPC came and replaced the whole box. Now on my 3rd in a year!
