Technika freeview hd info, is it missing.

I bought a technika freeview hd (the is2010 one)in tesco derry a few weeks back and it is recieving signal from hollywel hill. ocassional Intermittent breakup on picture here in buncrana, dont know if it,s a problem with my signal or if the problem is actually being transmitted from mast. signal strength was originally 51% with 100% quality. I reduced it to signal strength 27% (because of amplifier overload) and 100% quality which seems to have improved it a a bit.
Also the box if left on overnight locks up or freezes which requires a reboot to fix.
However my question refers to the programme guide and information, sometimes the guide will give info by pressing the info button and sometimes it wont.
Is the info being transmitted for all programmes on saorview or only selected programmes, ie is my freeview hd box working normally or not.
Could someone with a different model box tell me.

I have same box and get same thing - no info on Saorview but info with Freeview. You can get info by pressing guide, then info - sometimes! There maybe something not quite compatible with Saorview. Do you have info ok on RTE2 Temporary channel?

Temporary service shows the closing down info all the time.

Sounds like the same problem as the Metronic T2 Zapbox. For some reason, only the RTÉ2 Temp channel sees the info being brought up. Not a huge irritation, but noticeable nonetheless.

The Following Units are all Vestel T8300 Clones. However the noname brands like Alba Technika Grundig and Goodmans may now be sourcing a new range from China not from Vestel in Turkey.

It appears that the problems are with these Chinese units not the Vestels....meaning if in doubt you should buy a known Vestel not a Chinese jobbie.

The following Freeview HD STB models will display the same Glitches as each other. For software fixes you should tune into and monitor the UK Freeview Engineering Channel where the firmware updates are available form time to time.

Register and report the Vestel T8300 Bugs there. I understand that Vestel pick a lot of issues up there and deal with it in firmware releases but you must have access to the UK 'Engineering' Channel on Freeview to receive the firmware patches. Saorview could broadcast them too of course...but don't

This box isnt a vestel, sponge bob. The original one was though. Tesco source this one from China I believe.

So the Vestel ones could be OK, do Tesco still stock them or are all the Technika Freeview HD units now Chinese ??

Both model are still on tesco direct website but all boxes that i see instore are the newer stbhdis2010 model.
