    Hi lads,
I'm lucky enough to be heading back to full time work in january after a barren 2010. Currently my wife is using all of our tax credits. Her December salary has come through.

I want to split our credits again, should I wait till 2011 to do so, or is it ok to do now?

    Hi

The revenue have all ready issued Tax credits certs to employeers.
So what to do is ring the revenue when there back on the 4th and tell them what you want to do and they will issue a new cert to your wifes employeers with her share of the credits.

also what i would do is if ur starting the 1st week in jan tell ur wife to tell her employeer only apply half the tax credited and give her the standard rate band also. because what could happen is time the revenue issue a new cert in a week or so she could wind up with a chunck taking out of her wages because she had to much credits to begin with and lets face it its just wont worth that.

    Hope this is a help.

There is a form on the Revenue website called '' assessable spouse election form ''

Fill this in and it will help you to understand where your tax credits are allocated .
