It's not the most serious issue. I think I just want to talk this out and get a few opinions. I've just had the best date ever. Well it wasn't a date as such. I met this guy while out with friends. We caught each others eye and went to each other immediately and started chatting. Both of our sets of friends left us, we got on so well that we went on to another party. Ended up out for the whole night. Went for breakfast and all. I literally have not stopped thinking about the whole thing.

It's not a problem like I said but I just don't know what to do next. It was such an amazing night. He kept saying so too and kind of saying he's in trouble now because he doesn't often meet people he likes so much. We're neither of us young particularly, I'm 30 and he's 34. He didn't try or suggest just a sh@g either. I broke up with someone a year ago and since then have been playing the field, just enjoying myself casually and haven't met anyone to even make me consider changing this. I feel a bit stupid because I'm running away with this in my head! Like a teenager. We're both going away for Xmas but he made sure we exchanged numbers and all. The compulsion to text him or something is HUGE! I've never felt this. But I'm terrified he'll reject me. I have no reason to think he will i suppose. I was pretty drunk by the end of the night, we both were so I'm pretty sure I was obvious in how much I liked him. Again, something I wouldn't normally do, reveal myself so much. I haven't heard from him but that was Friday night/Sat morning. I'm just rambling aren't I?!? I guess what I'm asking, guys in particular, is that if it was as special as it seemed, is it likely I'll hear from him again? Should I be patient and wait for him to contact me or could I text him? Or would that ruin it for him if I seemed to eager?!?

Sorry for rambling, I fully appreciate it's not a pressing issue. I just haven't been in this situation in ages, I've been happy with casual scoring. I know I come across like a teenager but I am actually a fully functioning adult for the most part!

    Thanks for reading.

If he hasn't text you since Fri/Sat I'm sorry but it wasn't such a big deal for him as it was for you.

I disagree. For all we know, his head is all over the place as well!
How about, if you haven't heard from him in the next 2-3days, texting to wish him bon voyage for the Xmas trip, reinforce how you had a brilliant time that night,& are looking forward to catching up with him after your travels?

Not necessarily! It's only Sunday night.

OP, seems to me that you're obviously into this guy. If you don't hear anything from him by midweek (say Wednesday) i'd text him...'hi it's ***, did you enjoy last weekend, how are things?...how's your week going? etc.

FFS, if you like him text him.

Guys are just as clueless as girls in these situations. Just text him "how was the head/rest of his weekend" etc.

If he likes you he'll reply if he doesn't, well then you can move on and remember it as a lovely random night.

I wouldnt be concerned that he hasn't texted. He probably doesn't want to seem too forward, making himself less available to enhance your feelings through him, which is most definetly happening.

Don't worry too much, IMO, if he brought you to breakfast then he is definetly feeling it too.

Just a matter of time. And if he does pass it up, then its his loss, and you'll get someone better

    Hey OP
IMHO you’ve nothing to lose from texting him and with Xmas round the corner you’ve a good reason to text him if only to wish him a happy one.
In fairness you have no idea what kind of week he’s had. He might be snowed under with work and simply hasn’t had time or maybe he’s lost your phone number.
The way I see it text him – if you don’t get the answer you want at least you can move on but you’ll have closure or who knows if you both saw the night the same way it could be the best text you ever sent

    I agree.

You have to text him just to basically see where you stand, it will stop you wondering about it.

I find if a guy is really into you he'll text you the next day. Even if he's dying he'd send a wee text to say so and ask how your head is and stuff.....But then again guys my age dont play games and dont have the text "rule".
